Hammergrin’s annual “Month of March” culminated last week. Part-time Hammergrin spokesperson Ruairí McKernan pronounced it a “highly successful time, like Hollywood without the movies”. A notable contribution to the “Month” was made by our former ISDA Award Winner, Richard III. Richard spent a commemorative hour contemplating “modern technology” and composed a fine work reproduced here.
In Appr_ciation
My laptop had a bad glitch
I couldn’t put _ in words for a month.
I was working on a film script,
a play and a short story.
Many – if not most – words contain it
So I had to manually copy it in
Or think of similar words without it
It was all difficult.
Thankfully, a man undid said fault
And now that it’s back
I can pick any word in the world…
Ease
Richard III

Hammergrin’s prolific graphic design counterpart, Bespoke Cork (of Threat of Humour poster fame), has just unleashed this promotional number.

The designer, Sara Jane, is also offering a “buy one get one free” deal to those who need a design. Just mention Hammergrin.
That’s John McCarthy as a young child in the poster, by the way.

HAMMERGRIN’s John and Ciarán Fitzpatrick are engaged in negotiations with a London-based production company for the rights to a short-film script. Nobody of note is attached to the project and no speculation surrounds the piece. Yet. The script might be familiar to any of you who attended a certain Tikki Lounge Gig a few months back, where Frank Prendergast, Donnchadh O Connail and John McCarthy performed (as actors). The move comes afoot speculation that McCarthy condescends to write for children.
