A PERFECT NIGHT FOR A PERFECT CROWD

January 31, 2007 · Leave a Comment

The Tikki Lounge saw an epic evening of entertainment hosted by our hero, John – “If I do it again it won’t be as good as this”. Colum McKernan demonstrated the ancient art of one-man banjo-duelling (with a tin whistle), while Katie Holly made a welcome return with her “Ode to Katie Mehlua”. Ronan Fitzgibbon turned up late but wowwed the young audience with his advanced years and guitar playing. Headliner for the evening was David Nelligan, and his crisp tones and sharp wit earned him a late Oscar nomination. “I never knew this place existed”, said Tikki regular Seamus D’Arcy, who’s apt comment on the evening drew many warm responses from the surrounding crowd. Keep an eye on this page for future gigs, and email us to propose a guest slot.

FUN WEDNESDAY HAPPENS AT TIKKI LOUNGE, LITTLE HANOVER STREET

January 19, 2007 · Leave a Comment

The stars came out in style to conjoin with the cosmos of culture at the Tikki Lounge on Wednesday night.

“That was the best damn MCing I’ve ever done, ” says John F. McCarthy of Hammergrin fame, “I don’t know if it’s actually possible to get any better.”  John was accompanied by headliner Eoin Winning (of stage management fame), Ruairi McKernan (of set designer fame), Katie Holly (of Clarion Hotel lounge fame), and of course a magnificent debut act from Michael Cassidy (of Mike and Walters’ house fame).  There was also a very special guest appearance by Edward O’Riordan (of Ned fame).

Tonight was probably the best Tikki gig ever, so if you missed this one you missed out big time.  Not to worry though as another is set for early February.   More info will be posted soon!

HAMMERGRIN ADMITS DEFEAT AND STARTS A BLOG

January 16, 2007 · Leave a Comment

This is the first post on the official and brand new, exciting, shiny Hammergrin blog.  While we haven’t publicly shown enthusiasm for modern technology/internet/blogging/Bebo really, Hammergrin has finally admitted defeat and become more than a little bit interested in dabbling with shamless self-promotion.

Heck, we may even open our own shop.

Why this sudden change of heart? We have to admit that, while writing nonsense for the world to read while choosing from an endless supply of embedded videos, fonts, formats, usernames, comments, t shirt shops to promote it is cool – Hammergrin just makes it, well, important.
